"Yes, it was in the Sea Kingdom. Now, it was more of when you were younger, but nonetheless about you. I was trying to research about the different kingdoms and gather information about other places in this world in case I ever left the Sea Kingdom. And, when I got to the royal lines of the solarwings, your father was listed as current king. And, future king was listed as you, Prince Sol with some other information that the author was able to scrounge up about you." He waited, curious to see the reaction of the solarwing.

"Future King..." Sol echoed, a nervous smile creeping into his hesitant expression. "That's, uh..."
"Terrifying." Both he and Tobias said it at once.
Sol laughed, shaking his head.
"Why are you surprised, bud?" Tobias' eyes were closed, his head and back leaned against the wall.
Sol glanced up at the ceiling, then shook his head. "It's all so strange. So foreign. It's a topic I never wished to dwell on ever again."
"Yeah." Tobias gave a slow nod, pushing a tight smile. "Yeah. I know. It's okay."
"Yes. Yes." Sol agreed, turning his attention back to the SeaWing. "So- Crest, you met my Father here- in, I mean in The Scorpion Den?"

Eclipse sighed and closed her eyes.
"We are heading North through the Cloud Mountains, toward the tip of the continent," she said tiredly. "At least, that's what I was told. I'm not sure what the complete plan was, but I'll ask Monzy when we stop again."
She opened one eye again. "And that's Tobias by the way." Eclipse nodded slightly toward the human leaning against Sol on the furthest end of the transport.

Whitestar scowled at Austin as the human once again gave his silent command, frustrated to be taking orders from the self-righteous hunter. But the last thing they needed now was to get caught by a patrol in the middle of the Scorpion Den, and Whitestar didn't know his way through the maze-like corridors, so he followed Austin anyway, despite his irritation.

“I don’t even know why I keep going on this stupid journey,” Sunspot grumbled. She followed Eclipses gaze. “Looks like a stupid human to me. Why does Worry Face suck up to him again?”

Eclipse opened her other eye, staring at the Solarwing blankly.
"Because Tobias saved Sol when he was brought to the Den," she said, still watching Sunspot. She must have missed this part of the story when she'd told Sunspot about her adventure through the Scorpion Den, or maybe the Solarwing hadn't been listening to the deeper details.
"I haven't gotten a very explicit tale of how or exactly what happened, but Sol almost died when he was first brought in, and there was little to nothing left of his mental state. Tobias has been protecting him and taking care of him for years now, I can't remember exactly how many."

Eclipse rolled her eyes and then closed them again, curling her head in closer to her chest, closer to Shard. The cool seeping off the dragonet's scales was achingly familiar and the gentle chill helped with the horrible stuffy heat from the desert.
Eclipse wondered vaguely what life would be like if she decided to keep Shard around after all. It was hard to see her sending the dragonet off somewhere with strange dragons, worrying that if Eclipse herself wasn't there to supervise or be the one taking care of the Icewing, no one could do it properly. And she seldom admit she was beginning to grow fond of the little ice dragon. It felt wrong to part with her now.
These thoughts continued flitting through her mind, along with other less coordinated ones of Icewings and the unbearable wait for freedom again. This was the tide of subconscious thought that followed Eclipse as she slowly slipped deeper and deeper into sleep.
