Off color BCM Rooster and tiny hen-Any explanation?

Thanks for all the replies and information. The tiny hen is going to be a pet-she's laid one very tiny egg but it was beautiful- I'll keep her because she's cute and sweet, just not use her as foundation stock. The ugly rooster may be soup if he doesn't get better looking. I am going to go back to my other breeder for additional birds like my first pretty female, then close the flock and do the rolling mating scheme suggested by 3riverschick.

Do you have another pic of your male? All the little roos go through a really gawky stage! I have some that really turned out beefy compared to how they looked when they were younger. You should see how moth eaten and scroungy the Wheaten Marans look when they feather in LOL!
