Good thing I can think on my feet.........I've managed to do it about 3 times in my life! LOL Anyway.....as I'm sure you all know, it's been a bit toasty here in the desert (113 yesterday). I worry about the girls in this heat. I've been buying 10lb ice blocks for them (they love to stand on them). I keep as many frozen 2 liter bottles as I can (the rabbit gets one or two every day). But, there's only so much room in my freezer.
I've been contemplating options for their cooling. The "hilton" is at least 50 years old, and is not wired for electricity, so fans aren't an option. Soooo, I've been everywhere in my thoughts from the ice blocks, the bottles, spraying the coop and run down (drought conditions & water conservation prevent that from going on too much), to building a box under the floor for a dry ice block, etc, etc, etc.
The ice blocks seem the best option. What do I do?.......I go out and buy a new freezer!!! Course, I justify that by telling DH we can use it for overflow from the house, so on and so on. But, honestly, the ONLY reason I bought it is because of the girls.
DH says they eat better than half the people in our area do. And, with this lastest acquisition, I'd say they ARE spoiled! LOL
