Back to the ashes thing, my grandpa had his ashes put in the Gulf of Mexico, and my grandma will to when she goes. They don't let you sprinkle them now, but as long as you get a permit (so the state can get some cash) and the funeral home puts the ashes in a special sealed box type thing, you can still put them in the water.
I haven't seen 23, but Jim Carrey in a serious movie is an interesting thought. Remember that movie where Richard Thomas was a stalker? He was always John Boy to us, so him in a bad guy role was really creepy. John Boy gone bad, ya know?
