that is funny, i have a bissell performance turbo, with the hepa filter and three other filters on it. you wash all the filters monthly except the hepa one. it was recommended by a friend. and let me tell you it has picked up alot of stuff! way better than the dirt devil i had!
my husband and i thought about the dyson, but did not know anyone who had one either. so i went with this one. the first time i used it, it picked so well i had to empty out the cup that holds everything it vacums up about eight times! gezzzzzz! my old vacum wasn't doing nothing. how disguisting!
have you tried seeing if any websites have feedback on the dyson? you know how you buy a product and then people write reviews on it.

I have a Dyson - LOVE IT - I have long hair and I do have to get down there and cut my hair out of the roller, I apparently SHED alot!

Thats the only problem I've ever had, and I've had my Dyson about 2 years now (The purple one, Dyson Animal)

:confused:Talk about things that suck, I recall when my daughter was around 15 yrs old we had poltergiest activity in our home on and off for about 2-3 yrs.

I think she was frustrated during those yrs of growing up etc. But we had some strange things happen like: I would come home from work and she was home already via school bus, and her bedroom was above our living room, and on this occasion I walked in the front door, and the TV blinked on ( in L.R.) and there was a news cast show on, so I was like 'huh' and turned it off, literally 2 seconds later it blinked on again, I turn off, it goes back on, so this goes on a few more times, then my hubby turns the switch off on the wall to terminate it. Later on DD told us she was anxious about stuff.

Another time, my hubby and I were talking in the kitchen when we heard firecrackers go off in the front entryway, the dog starts to bark (yap yap yap- pomeranian style) and we proceed to the front foyer, DD comes in front door from being dropped off by school bus, and asks us 'whats wrong?' we tell her of the noise, and she says that's the noise she heard getting off the school bus two doors down.

We all heard it but we were in different locations.

I have the yellow dyson and LOVE it!! Our 8 1/2 yr.old grand daughter uses it also. It is sooo easy to control and sucks things up wonderfully. My husband, I and our grand daughter all have long hair so I have to clean the rollers often . I would not trade this one for any other kind that I have used/seen. Expensive, yes but I think that it is worth it. I don't dread vacuuming any more. I am not tearing my hair out duriing and afterwards.

I know a girl that has a dyson (yellow) and she loves it. She is a newly-wed though, and still vacuums her cute little house just for fun.

Some people came to our house a few years back, and sold my husband on a Tri-Star canister vacuum. It costs probably about the same as a Dyson, but we have all hard floors and it works awesome on those, since there is no roller flinging the dirt back on us. When we bought it we had carpet and hard floors, so we used a separate head thingy on the carpet. It has the cloth bag inside that you dump out and it can go in the washer. Absolutely no dirt comes back out of it when it's running, which I love, and the thing is made of metal, not plastic, which I also love. And it doesn't hurt my back to use it. It makes all the eureka's, dirt devils, and bissells that we used up before seem like disposables!

She cleans her house everyday too...My house isn't dirty, but it's cluttered...by since I'm a Flybaby, it's getting better.
My FIL had a shark vac and he said that it wouldn't work, so he gave it to me...Molly fixit over here...and it was because the filters were clogged that it wasn't working...

So I got me a new vacuum. I love my dirt devils though.
But nothing beats an old Hoover Canister that weighed a couple of tons. LOL
I too shed a lot and have dismembered a Dirt Devil or two to get the hair out.

Thanks for all your responses on the Dyson thing. I let my husband know what you all have said and he said, "Well, I guess if I can buy $400 nail guns I can get you a $400 vacuum." I said, "Well, it is a tool of my trade." LOL

He wants to know if anyone has the "original" Dyson. He says he thinks it's blue, and he saw it at Walmart recently for around $300. Anybody?
