this is Eddy, a blue d’Uccle cockbird.

beautiful! We just got a pair of self blue d'Uccles and this is our first foray into feathered feet... its so funny to see them almost waddle with those long feathers. My daughter calls them Microraptors

They are just 12 weeks old, just starting to get the cheek poofs (so cute!) but the little roo has foot feathers for days, the little pullet not so much. I was amazed how early his comb showed up, no mistaking that one for a pullet, he identified himself at probably 3 weeks! Interestingly they are a very pale grey blue, where your blue is almost a blue black

 

[Fluffy Lambs]

Self blue is different from blue. Blue looks like fluffy bottom bantams blue, self blue is lighter, and the 'self' in it means there is no varying shades of blue. The plumage should be almost or all the same color. I have a self blue silkie and a blue silkie that look so different.

 

[Painted Calls]

Self blue is the same as lavender. Not blue at all.

This is Jasmine, a black asutralorp hen. She was attacked by a dog, and was almost put down by a vet due to extensive nerve damage in her legs, but, amazingly, with care, medicine, and patience, she’s all back to normal! She’s 3 years old now. This is my sister @Starburst’s chicken.

This is Minnie, a Gold Laced Wyandotte. She’s 1.5 years old. (Hen)
Minnies a bit on the shyer side (possibly due to the fact that she’s low on the pecking order) but always comes running for mealworms.
