How do I love thee?
I will provide you a safe, comfortable coop.
You'll have cool, fresh clean water & shade in the summer.
I will shovel paths for you in the winter snow.
You'll get mealworms, watermelon, cabbage, corn on the cob & squash in addition to nutritious feed.
I will greet & visit with you every day, bringing hugs, talking to you, maybe even singing you songs.
You'll be my favorite gardening buddy.
I will write stories about you & post your photos on BYC."

I can buy myself chickens (sing along)

~Eggs were good eggs were gold,
The kind of eggs the grocery sold

They were cheap... until they weren't
the price got bad because the egg farms burned

I didn't want to pay the price
I didn't like the cost

...I started to cry but then I remembered I...

I can buy myself chickens

I can hatch my own eggs...

I can talk to them for hours
saying things that you don't understand,

I can collect my own eggs,

I can hold my own hen,

Yeah I can love them better than... a store can.
