How exactly did you get to that spot anyways? Did you fill her in? did she actually manage to get it that perfectly and geometrically balanced w/o marks from tucking wings in etc etc.

I used to bury paco in paper mulch back in the days, literally bury him under 2 feet of it, and he'd have to chew himself up and out. You'd have thought that bird died and went to heaven!! Cleaning the mess up afterwards was a bit harrowing but in the meantime, he had fun and most importantly of all, it kept him Q U I E T !!... SShhhhhh ...

She was dust bathing and my mom was outside in the yard. Butter is my mom's favorite hen. She knelt down beside her and decided to see if she would allow her to put sand on her. She put one handful on her, Butter did not move. So she kept putting sawdust on top of her until she was covered like you see in the picture. After she was done covering her up, she napped like that for several minutes. It was a warm afternoon and I really think she enjoyed it.

That's funny,but yah the nice warm sun, do a little fluffing to get it up under the wings and such and just bathe in it, yah they'd love that for sure. You don't want to be within 5 feet of her when she gets out though because the sand storm when she starts shaking it all out, hmm.
