Ended Official BYC DIY Contest #1 - Show us Your Project and Win!

Put some dawn dish soap in it put some water in there and scrub but if there is a lid roll it around the yard to clean it. Then rinse let dry and build it. That is what I would do

So...

I know it's not cold here anymore, but I decided to try my hand at combining a cookie tin heater and horizontal nipple waterers for all weather use.

Many, including myself have had issues with the birds dribbling water from the nipples, as this causes problems, especially during the colder season.

This is working very, very well for now...

Thanks in advance for your considerations.

Hello all. I'm not sure if this counts or not, but this is a pen I designed for my two chickens. It is all hand made and the frame was put together piece by piece. I hope this is ok as an entry and I believe it is pretty innovative, given the fact that it folds down for easy storage.

That is pretty slick and nicely built.....would like to see some close ups of the corner attachments.
I'm assuming the 4 sides are separate, but maybe I didn't read close enough.

The four sides of the pen are actually not separate. They are all attached. The only things that are actually separate are the pen and the lid for the pen. The pen is composed of alternating hinges (set on inside, set on outside) such that the pen folds in on itself, creating one easy-to-move section. The lid implements similar features so that it can fold up into one section and also be moved with the pen. The corners are nothing special. The frames were built such that the wood from one section of the corner will collide with the alternate section of wood, preventing the hinge from opening more than 90 degrees. I've attached pictures.
