Oh wow! Colors sure can change. I hatch Cilantro and she was yellow with a black stripe on her head as a chick and now she’s dark brown and black! The pullet in the photo had quite a bit of white feathering as a chick but now has only the tiniest bit in her bouffant.![]()
Hmm well what I’ve found out is if you react too strongly too a dog chasing them they’ll do it more because the attention is fun but I let my girls give our dogs a piece of their mind and they stoppednow they only chase my rabbit but that’s mainly because my dog is a mammal hunting breed but has just enough of other non-hunting breeds to not actually bite him, Brighi does it simply because she’s bored but the closest they’ll get to my chickens is when they have scraps
Brighid is my parents dogThat's exactly what I've been doing with him. He has a very strong chase drive. In the past, he has had a lot of frustration and overexcitement behaviors if he's blocked from getting what he wants (made worse due to health issues). His health issues have (hopefully!) been solved and he is much calmer now, so now it's time to work on undoing those previous behaviors.
They definitely react worse with too much of a strong reaction. At least, I've found that to be true.
My dog thinks anyone coming to stop him is too much of a strong reaction lol. He would likely stop if one of the chickens told him off.
Mine just run. Understandable response when they're being chased by an 85 lb dog!
I love your dog's name!
I’m not sure, we got her from a friend who could no longer keep her! What kind of Guinea pig is that? Looks like an angora rabbit almost. So cute!
Well she’s definitely adorableI’m not sure, we got her from a friend who could no longer keep her!
Brighid is my parents dog, Bmo is my dog, simple name from a show.
Sounds like a bird breed.
You just need an older chickencinnamon I was given at 2 years old, Brighi is about 70+ ib… mainly muscle though
Shih Tzu is correct!I’ve never seen a small dog that’s good with chicks! Our dog loves my chicks and panics whenever she doesn’t have access to them, she used to lay next to the incubator and watch them but she’s has a ton of mountain farming breeds and super lazy breeds so it makes sense for her… but if I’m right, that looks like a shih Tzu or Schnauzer? I’m not too aware of how Shih Tzus are but all the Schnauzers I’ve met chase them… so that’s a very impressive good girl
Love when I catch my chickens riding a goats. So funny.
