Come on Buddy, you can do it

Drum roll please......I tried to blame the delay on Buddy, but actually I've had a lot of long work hours lately.....so Bud Cat decided to finish our 2016 GB Chicken Coop project alone .

Not an entry, but GB is an annual tradition for me and my Buddy. ( he couldn't photo and be in pic at the same time).

​

All edible except the toothpick supports in the Chicken "Skater"....looks like me the only time I ever tried Ice Skating

Didn't have to hot glue this time

The frozen pond was a second attempt at cooking sugar, Karo syrup, water to hard candy temp....first batch was a real mess. If you try this, do not exceed Med-High Heat

. And if you plan to let the pond candy puddle on paper - don't let the paper get greasy first

. And don't make a sheet of candy and expect to break it into a pretty shape

Egg box and bench are my first attempts not using my GB cast iron mold

This thing ROCKS! Great job, Buddy! Way more ambitious than what I'm working on - which, by the way, won't be finished until tomorrow.

Today Kendra was into absolutely everything, and being sick made her super crabby to boot. By the time she got picked up, I was dead on my feet. Ken rousted himself up something for supper but this cookie is going to do a nebulizer treatment, take an antibiotic and go to bed for a while. If I get up later and get back to it, fine...if not, there's not much to finish (all the components are finished and all that's left is the final assembly) so I have Saturday to get it done.

I love "EYE of the Tiger," and "Vehicle," Jim whatever, I can't think of his last name., lives in Burr Ridge. About 13 years ago he had a free concert at the school and I walked there on a very cold and dark night. Got there way too early and all the seats where empty, so I took one front row center and no one ever told me to move. It was fantastic. I felt like he was performing for ME. My son wouldn't come with because he didn't want anyone at the school to see him with his mother. and he never heard of those songs anyway. Hmm, be a parent, that's the thanks you get.
