One of my longest hobbies has always been reading...I started reading when I was four so I can't really remember NOT reading... I especially love older books...that smell when you open the pages...

I love that smell of books! I can't stand reading books on a technology device... I have to hold a book to read it... curled up next to a fire in the winter with a hot beverage. One of my favorites!

Lol yep! I did collect them at one point but I don't use them as much anymore (oh, the symbolism )

Hobby #2:

Reading... I am an Avid reader and have been since I was 12 or 13. I got hooked on Stephen King. Before that, I would get library books to sate my mother's insistence but I wouldn't read them... until Night Shift, a collection of short stories by King.

I would read at night before bed but soon found myself reading almost all night, between classes in school and on occasion, while walking home from school. I could read a short book in a day and the long ones within a week or so.

Now, when I read, I often fall asleep so I mostly read at night in bed. I have a Nook and a wish list on Barnes and Nobel that has probably 1000 titles on it, spread across many genres. History, biography, true crime, suspense and horror are the main genres. (Can't pay me to read a romance novel though... just not my thing)

I have a fairly good vocabulary due to reading and have gained quite a bit of knowledge, mostly from the historic books but from some of the others as well.

Most rewarding of my hobbies.

Yes. Yes. Yes.
I read voraciously. And I do agree, it is very rewarding!

Are you buying the kits or skeins? Do you separate the threads? Theyre usually 6 ply and need to be separated which can be a bit of a pain. I usually end up with leftovers. Although i havent cross stitched or embroidered since mini started walking (a VERY long time ago ) and now we have cats which are just as bad or worse when it comes to sharp pointy objects.

I buy the kits and separate the threads as specified, cross stitch is usually 2 and outlines are usually 1.
This is my most present work and look at the light blue rocket that says Time. I ran out of that color. For some reason, the biggest shape only had one string with 6 threads.

But I do usually buy the cheap stuff.
I have been really tempted to try out these three though.
Soooooo... I might be getting stuck into it again from just talking about it.
