2. Drag racing I got into drag racing with my dad and built a car with him. I enjoy it because of the competitiveness and hanging out with my dad. I sacrifice my saturdays for it but it is worth it and feel as if I am an expert because I have won the points series and many races. And luckily anything that I win my dad(who pays for my entry) let's me.put it towards college and let's just say it's made an impact

I collect tiny succulents, big succulents, long succulents, short succulents, any succulent, you name it I will take it, and I have a little ecosphere in which I am raising some snails, shrimpy thingies, and duckweed : )
What is it that you love about your hobby?
I love getting to see all the little green plants growing up. I also love getting new plants and adding them to the group! (They might be starting to border too many plants)
When do you do the hobby?
It's kind of a whenever I need to
What sacrifices do you make to be able to practice your hobby?
I don't make any sacrifices except for having my curtains open to let the light in, but I don't think that counts.
Are you an amateur? An adept? Or an expert?
Amateur, but I've kept most of them alive so far.
Are you lucky enough that this hobby is part of your job/income?
No, I'm thinking about starting a YouTube channel for my other hobby (baking) though.

#1 One of my hobbies is painting. To be honest I need to pick up my brushes and work on a new one there’s a small show coming up. I typically start working on these during the winter because my other # 2 hobby is gardening and growing roses from seed. Both are time consuming so I try to paint when the weathers bad and garden the rest of the time.

Your artwork is beautiful! I love the colors, they're so bright in the pictures, incredible details and yet soft. Wow!

Wow that’s so cool! My dad loves that sort of thing

Believe it or not, my hobby is flipping houses... or was. I did one this year for my mother. I'm finishing up my dad's house so it can be sold. I'm living in a reno...
It started as a means of survival but I became completely addicted during the first one.
I love everything about it. The hunt to find the right house, the designing phase, finding the right finishes within budget, the demo, rebuild and finishing, marketing, and most of all the great sense of satisfaction I feel in seeing the expressions on the new owners faces at how much they love their new home, where they will either retire or raise their family. It's so much more rewarding that working for big industry!
I calculated that I earned about $2.20/hr on the first flip! Which tells you just how much time it takes to get the work done but its worth it...
I flipped 5 houses in 5 years that were for profit. Mom's house (and dad's house) were for closure.
I always find myself slowing down to look more closely at that dilapidated house with the notice on the door, taped there with the "blue tape of death".
Here are some before, during and after pictures:

Just before and afters... note the blue tape of death still stuck to the door.

Omgoodness you did such an amazing job!! Looks like a heck of a lot of work but the finished product is amazing! My mom and I would binge HGTV flips so much when I was younger. Great transformation!

Thanks. It's fun and frustrating at the same time. I've have lots of before and after pictures but mostly just "after" as I needed to get the listing going. I do 99% of the work myself. I've replaced furnaces, installed water heaters, done roof tear offs down to the rafters. Lots of roof work this year!
This picture is from inside my garage.

This is what the roof looked like.

Birds were flying through holes in the roof and nesting on the framing in the garage when we bought the place.
