And what be your story?

I was in 4th or 5th grade and there was going to be a balloon release. They were picking one kid from my class and one from the other class of the same grade. I wasn't paying attention where we were asked to pick a number between 1 and 35, and I picked 3. That number was already taken. So in my head, adding 10 to the 3 was the smart choice, not really being aware that to most people 13 is "unlucky". The number they had written down was 13. Not only did I get to be the one in my class to release the balloons, the boy that I was just crazy about was the winner in the other class, so we got to do it together. Ever since, that has been my lucky number.
