Official BYC Poll: What humidity do you use in incubation (first 18 days)?

I set the humidifier on 45% the first days and on 60-65% on lockdown.

I picked other. I haven’t used my incubator yet. When I hatch next spring, my humidity will be what the website experts tell me to set it at! Lol. Looking at the poll results so far, I would set it at 40-50%.

I think the answer to this also depends on the climate where you live. I’m in north eastern Washington state. I run my incubator 30-45% during the first 18 and then raise to 55-60% for lockdown. If I did dry technique it would sit at 4% haven’t had the guts to try it yet…

Same here! It’s very humid in MS but I’m having a hard time risking an entire hatch on an experiment. I love the idea of a more simplistic hatching experience though. Maintaining 50-60% takes some effort but I know it works. Those of you that dry hatch, how low does it get???

I dry hatch, but as stated earlier, I live in the tropics where ambient humidity is very high. Even the least humid months of the year finds our humidity in excess of 60%.

I dry incubate and humidity normally runs between 35% and 45%. Can go as low as the high 20s and have never had any issues.

Even at lockdown you still don’t add water? Not questioning your process, I just want all the details before I try it. I know you are the guru of incubation!
