This is true. Bc in the Netherlands big bird is blue/lavender and she has a real name. Pino. My biggest Dutch when I started to keep chickens was named after her.

A lot of the English and American TV series are broadcasted or adapted in the Netherlands/Europe. Vice versa , this probably happens too. It happens at least with successful programs with a formula/concept. I believe the singing contests X factor and the one with blind auditions and turning chair have its origin in the Netherlands.
