Hi, by name is Barbara and I too am a hatch-a-holic. Can someone please tell the 12 steps that I need to take to go into recovery? And also tell me, what do I do with all these chickens?

I can't help you, Henry. Your box was one of the ones hubby found in the garage. He knew I was trading eggs, he just had no idea I'd also bought some to keep them company.

Luckily there's a sale Saturday not too far from home. I will be there at daybreak, hoping to thin the flock. I have to if I want to keep my new babies who haven't hatched yet...

Couple of my crushed duck eggs have pips! This could be a bad thing, because if I discover that birds *may hatch* despite all odds against them it could double my addiction....help....I think the duckies have me too!!

Do you hang around BYC all day? Wait for that call from the PO to say you have eggs to pick up? Constantly check your temp and humidity on the bators? yes more than one! Always sneaking a glance at ebay to see what new eggs they have for sale? Let your housework and laundry go, so you can talk about chickens? How about a wireless thermometer/hygrometer so you can watch constantly! Daydream about staying home from work so you can watch your eggs! Hide the eggs and incubators and boxes from your DH. Yep, that's me, I got it bad. Hi, I'm janie and I am a hatch-o-holic!

So get more eggs. Sell your chicks to make room for more. Or put them to work this summer and you could have a bug free zone. Then rent them to your neighbors to eat their bugs.

Oh that was my excuse....maybe it was those turkey eggs I pre-ordered that they never told me they were in the mail...now my husband is helping somebody at work has BO's purebreds so now I'm getting free test eggs let's see I have 2 incubators that hold 50 or so and the new little one and a 2 shelf hatcher that holds around 36. Just how many chickens am I going to have? Well I have 5 week old ones now put an add up on craigslist and already have people who want some so maybe I can keep on having fun because I was going to stop this madness until my hens were laying....I have 41 chicken eggs due for lock down Sat. 7 turkey eggs ready friday to add chicken eggs with so I have 40 eggs or so in the mail and 24 coming next week and those free test eggs maybe Friday or next week seems to me I'll have 112 eggs because that is all I can fit I do think it's hopeless to think I will stop this madness when this whole thread is enabling me

(Signs and Symptoms you may be a Hatch-a-holic: Do you hide evidence of your habit from family and friends?)

So, Fellow enabling HAH's, where do you stash your "trash" or how do you camouflage the boxes? Let's give WeGotChickens some helpful ideas...
