officially worst week ever **update: turning into the best week ever**

Started with two chicks killed, then a third hen the next night. So I borrowed a trap and fixed the problem. Then last night the stupid animal knocked the trap over ate the bait, ripped the newly boarded up hole and tore down the wire and killed two more chickens.

Now I only have one chicken left

so now I am trying a whole new patch. Chicken is coming in with me tonight and I'm going to try and trap it again.

Well I just needed to vent, gotta get back to work.

On a positive note it hasn't bothered my rabbit or her bunnies, they are also coming in tonight.

This morning I rushed out side to check the trap and...

you need to stake the trap down so they can't roll it when they get trapped.. raccoons are very good at rolling a trap

Don't neglect making the coop or pen more predator proof. There will be more. You need to use hardware cloth if they are ripping through. Was it chicken wire?

Could it have been a cougar cause I don't know any other animals that can rip through hardware cloth. Good luck and sorry for your losses. Hope you catch watever it is.
