I’ve gone and done it. Hubby has resigned himself to the fact we will be urban chicken owners. My niece is picking up the 4 girls today and will be housing them until my coop is built.
we have already named them. Attila the hen, Hendiana Jones, Yolko-ono and Randy.
I’ve been wanting to do this for years but we had 3 dogs 2 large and 1 small. One of the large dogs passed from cancer and our little Molly just passed due to pancreatitis. And well why the hell not. This will be a learning curve but I’ve been doing a lot of reading and research about flock health, nutrition, what to do if, wintering in Alberta.

Hello! Welcome to BYC! This is such an awesome community, you’ll learn so much. I know I have. Chickens are a great way of getting outside more, they certainly taught me how to get outside and hang out. One of the things that I learned is that each chicken has its own personality and you’ll discover that when you get yours.
wishing your flock the best from mine.
