I just sat down to a coffee after processing 2 roosters this morning from my new replacement flock, 15 weeks old. I live in town and can't have them. So, as I start to type, what do I hear? 2 more exercising their roo pipes. Great. Oh well, they better taste good....

In a world scrambling, to reduce, reuse, and recycle, chickens should be the poster-child for efficiency. When it comes to being more self-sufficient and enjoying more, while consuming less, our flocks offer us a dual bounty of food, plus entertainment!

We had chicken and rice soup for dinner and I'm just about to dig into the eggs n' toast my DW brought me for breakfast. Good stuff!

Ok, this is making me hungry. I roasted a couple roos the other night, then boiled the left overs down and pulled the meat off and slow cooked it in BBQ sauce for pulled BBQ chicken sandwiches. Yum it was good 2 times. Chickens are the best farm animal pets I have ever had.

chicken rules as a source of food. Pets i dunno they can be entertaining but i cant cuddle with em.
