I thought the chicks would be coming sooner
but no, I am on hold till October

right now I am thinking that would not be such a bad idea
I am hearing many stories of chickens dying in the heat

It is way to hot to ship anything live. Just last week someone said they got a few adults in that were dead. Better to wait till fall!

yeah, that is what I was thinking
I am getting the chicks privately though, through a mate
so that should be a little better

I guess shipping conditions would not be first class for the poor things

This heat is just insane!
My Mom said, "the dogs need to come in, it's too hot" Which yes, I agree with her...but I had to be captain smarty pants and say "the horses and the chickens wanna come in too!"

It's been nasty...I really hope it cools down soon....I can't function in this and either can anyone else!
Someone thought they'd be silly on my facebook the other day when I commented on this heat...she said "You don't have to shovel the heat" Yeah well my pizza cutter tires don't require that I do much shoveling. I'm not hoping for snow by any means! But dang...it's much easier to do something about how cold you are. I am a fan of blankets!
I know this has nothing to do with your chick chicks!
I'm sorry, I went off...I've been doing that quite a bit lately!
I would say it's best that you have to wait...I hate waiting...I'm an impatient person. Instant gratification!

I hope you receive healthy, happy, adorable birds in October!
You can feed them pumpkin pie! ^_^ That will get you off on the right foot.

That's stinks!!! What I ended up doing was going to a local swap and feed store and got them that way...I have no patience to be waiting! lol

Haha
Miyashi,
I do not mind ramblers
Sometimes, although not often, I will tend to ramble myself
I am glad this house resembles a freezer most of the time
must be something structural

wow yeah

although I do not mind heat
it usually means I eat more ice cream than usual

I think we have insulation
not sure what it does, but it keeps things cool for a while at least
probably after the heat gets in it is going to stay in

I think they forgot to insulate our roof, I'm pretty sure that's what my Dad said....bunch of empty cavities in this house.
It's so old the county doesn't have record of when it was built. We just moved here a year ago and we are going slowly on the repairs...they are expensive and extensive! This house is also terribly crooked and we are afraid to change things too much.

Don't speak of the ice cream! I work at ColdStone and I can't stay away from the crap!
It's always so tempting!
