Un;ess it is a breed that is bloated (Lionheads etc) they can usually survive a drop like that, especially since it was onto carpet. Within a day or so, you can see bruises on a fish, just like a human (they are red) so if it's ok after 48 hrs I say it has a pretty good chance of making it
