A time lapse of 1 month's growth with 3 plants. Already giving much needed afternoon shade. They'd be bigger if I had put up chicken wire sooner 😂. Zone 5b. I'll update in a month when they have taken over all the ropes!

Where did you get the plant? Does it grow in zone 9? I’ve been wanting some natural greenery and shade for my coop.

I got my hops from a local brewery! Greatlakeshops.com also has a nice selection and great customer service.

You would have to work to get hops to grow successfully in zone 9 since they require cool days and can be susceptible to disease in high humidity. I'm not saying it's impossible, it just might be tough!

Thank you for that! While where I live does get quite hot and humid, it gets cooler in the winter for Florida standards. I will have to do more research, of course my significant other would be more interested in the prospect of beer.

I believe hops grow well in FL. I recall some time ago reading up on a hops farmer a county or two north of you which is still zone 9. I think they need lots of space and sun so there must be different strains, if that's the right word.
