I have one incubator full of assorted chicken eggs, and one with Indian Runner Eggs... they aren't going to hatch for a while, but I have one duck egg that goes into lockdown on Sunday. The plan is to take it out and put it in an old "Little Giant" for the hatch. I'm trying to get the temperature and the humidity just right. I am praying that my hygrometer gets here tomorrow or the next day to make sure. If not I'm just going to have to do the best I can. It doesn't hold a very constant temperature.... : ( I'm wondering if making a homemade styrofoam incubator might be better.

I don't know. I've heard amazing things and awful things about LG. In my experience, I like them... But... Whatever. Good luck on your hatch whatever you decide. If you could get it to stay between 95-101, you would be fine... It might hatch late, but it would hatch.

I should be able to do that. I wouldn't have this staggered hatch, but my computer malfunctioned and I had to send it back to the company. I had chicken eggs on the way for the other one, and more duck eggs ready for a new one I purchased... so this little guy was "odd duck out" he was already a week into developing and I had to continue with him, so I kept him in with the new duck eggs I added. Unfortunately I have to keep the humidity and turning right for them, so I pulled out this old Little Giant to put him in. The kids in my class have already named him "Lucky Duck" because the other eggs that were in the malfunctioning incubator had to be thrown out...I had originally planned to put him in there with them after I candled the eggs and took out the ones that weren't fertile. so I hope all goes well for "Lucky Duck" This is confusing... so if you have no idea what I'm talking about... I certainly understand.
