Oh Migraines, how I hate thee...

The last one I had was brought on by fluorescent lights and food triggers.
I got rid of all of those energy saving light bulbs and have not had once since,
I also gave up peanut butter, (Which is a serious drag.)
I hope you feel better by now. Sometimes the migraine hangover is terrible also, so don't use heavy machinery. Crack your walnuts with something else.

I'm right there with you, Boyd, you poor dear. What I hate is the nausea that sends me to the ER because, once that starts, it's all over for me-no meds I have here, no matter how strong, are going to work. I need the IV ones.

Soooo sucky! Migranes run in my family. I've only had two episodes that I think may have been migranes. I threw up both times. The pain was awful.......

Not pleasent but letting cold water run over your head in a shower as long as you can stand it.

I have Silent Migraines. That is migraines without pain. I have the numbness on the left side of my body, the crazy speech, my face tingles and I feel like I am drooling, and constantly wiping my face. And I have aura's, so I tell hubbo that I see haints! I have been hospitalized for 4 days, they thought I had a stroke. Well, in the CAT scan, they found an aneurysm, which led the the MRI and they found another one. Yippie! I had brain surgery to clamp them in Dec of 08, and they still didn't know why I was having these crazy symptoms. They thought it was TIA's. Finally, a Neurologist diagnosed me, and now I have a name for what is wrong. You may think that without pain is a breeze, but wow. I took one hit of acid in the 70's, and this is just what it's like. Or like being sick/drunk, and trying to sleep it off, but when I wake up, it's still there. 2 or 3 days. There is nothing I can take to help. I take Neurontin 3 times a day, and Fierocet as needed, but I have to go to the dark, quiet room, and there are some days that I can't drive, I just have to stay in bed. They are't fun, and I haven't found anything to knock myself out with! So, I feel your pain, without actually feeling your pain.

You should ask your doctor about Maxalt. It works very well.

Before my neck surgery, I was getting a migraine daily. It was pure torture to have horrid arm and neck pain, but even worse topping it off with a daily migraine. Now I get them a few times a month. The Maxalt works to relieve the migraines 98% of the time. It's amazing! I hope you find something for you! I use ice packs also.

At work right now, so I will respond in detail later.

15 migraines in the month of August, 4 so far in Sept.

I totally understand. I've had migraines to the point were I feel like dying. For me, I was in soccer at the time (I can be a little rough) I was busting my spine up. It was twisted, which was giving me migraines. Aromatherapy has helped, mostly my chiropractor, God bless him has fixed me completeley. Sorry about your migraines, I can relate.
