OH. MY. GOODNESS. *rant* NOW WITH HATCHES!!!

I have NO idea; when I went to bed after midnight it was 99! Bizarrely enough, a few of them are still rocking. Temp and humidity is stable now, and I am not going to leave the incubator's side until this is resolved one way or another. Oh, except to go into town and buy the R-Com 20 from an eBay seller - doing that in a few hours.

Maybe it wasn't that high for long enough??

I'm sorry it's not working for you. Today is Day 17 of incubation, right?

Cherlynn--this may have been addressed elsewhere, but what kind of thermometer are you using? My husband once had a ball python, and his cage temp was spiking all over the place and freaking us out, despite our rather expensive proportional thermostat and excellent insulation. Come to find out, it wasn't the temperature at all--it was the thermometer. In which case--your eggs will be just fine.

I would try a new thermometer before buying a new incubator, just in case. Of course, it never hurt anyone to have a second incubator.

S'ok - I have been eying R-Com 20 for months and this just gives me a reason to buy it.

Using a digital thermometer to measure the water wiggler, and another digital one to measure the air temp of the incubator.

I tried two different homemade incubators & gave up & bought a Hovnabator and an auto-turner. My last hatch I had 98% and 100% hatch--ON SHIPPED EGGS!

Get your 'bator & set some more eggs! Be sure & have a backup wafer (if it uses one).

Incidentally, I put mine in the utility room next to the washer and dryer--nobody EVER goes there except me, lol.

What is a wafer? Does the R-Com 20 use it?

I just fired up the R-Com 20! What a wonderful transaction - a 20 min drive to pick it up, and the woman included ten free eggs to start out with.

Ok, all, I am so confused...

The eggs are rocking again, very noticeably so! How on earth have they made it this far???

Maybe your thermometer is screwy like the other guy said or they weren't 109 for long? Whatever the case they must really want to live. *resuming fluffy baby watch*

Tell me how you like your R com. I've been eyeballing some digital incubators myself but thought I would try out a homemade one first (I love building and tinkering) on some organic store eggs (which were alive and well my last candling, no idea how they are doing now). I have mine on lockdown now so I'm pretending like they don't exist so I don't feel tempted to mess with them. My moment of truth comes Monday (not Wednesday as I've posted somewhere else in error).

My temps are a bit unstable for my taste but the problem has to do with the particular styrofoam box I used. I already have another box I'll setup and test at a later date.
