I run an ameraucana roo on a mixed layer flock. Stuff got hectic and I didn't pull eggs for a while. Needless to say I had bunches of chicks born last week. I can tell my purebred ameraucana, but I have all these little crossbreds. Are they worth raising as replacement layers or should I have a mass giveaway?

hens' breeds are: buff orpington, black australorps, barred rocks, rir. All covered by ameraucana roo. What are your thoughts?

Cheers

Oooh, they should be good layers. Try selling for a low price, then you at least get some of your investment back.

If you need more layers then raise them. If you don't want any more then list them on Craigslist as mixed layers and sell them for a couple bucks each.

Sorry y'all, I'm using my so called smart phone to post and it redirected all my typings to who knows where. I edited, sorry for the confusion.

Cheers
