Oh, no. EE roo? (now with pictures!)

pips&peeps :

That bird is a cockerel and don't let anyone tell you different. The color pattern he is carrying is also a male trait.

One question, Jean....

I also have an EE 13 week old seemingly roo with the green coloring on his tail feathers. Are you saying that the green coloring is an EE roo trait not found in EE hens? Or were you speaking to some other color pattern for that bird specifically?

Its not the green coloration that is a male trait, as both sexes can get a green sheen. It's the color pattern as a whole.

ETA: do you have a pic of your EE?

2nd EE, I'm guessing a pullet:

3rd EE, I think it's a pullet, outside chance it may be a roo:

Pips&Peeps and LilPeeps, any sexing help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you so much, Jean and I'm sorry if I hijacked your thread perstephone....your chickens are absolutely gorgeous! I love the color of your birds!

Bluey- no problem!

Ken- he could be the twin of mine- they're practically identical.

Everyone- thanks so much for the help. If one of my hens had to be a rooster, I'm glad we could figure it out now (before he started crowing). We're able to spend some time finding a new place for him, one that hopefully won't eat him. Hey, a rooster as handsome as him deserves a little chicken action, right?
