and I don't have enough room. I ordered some over a month ago but I had no idea when the guy was shipping them...sometime this spring he said. Well he called me and he's sending way more than I ordered and they will be here today or tomorrow

. Plus I bought some duck eggs on ebay on a whim thats in transit to my house as we speak. I couldn't control myself. Not to mention the quail eggs I bought the other day that are in transit as well. Man oh man, what's a girl to do?

Get another bator. I'm gonna call cackle hatchery as I live in the same town as them and pray that they have another Hova 1588 in stock. If not, I guess I'm off to TSC to get a LG

Ummm, Sonja, see this is what happens when you have so many "helpers".
Hope you can find another incubator-wish I had known before, I have an LG that has never been out of the box. I'd have sent it to you.
We'll be waiting for pics, you know!

The guy called about my wyandottes. I ordered 8 blue, 8 columbian, and 8 partridge. hes sending 12 blue, 12 columbian and 8 patridge. See it's not really my fault. It's his right?

Absolutely, 100% HIS fault.
I mean, what can you do when the breeder you are buying eggs from is "helping", as well?
I can't wait for them to hatch, especially the Columbians. They are so pretty.

Sonja,

It sounds as though what you really need is a bigger incubator.. I built one out of an old office fridge and while I only have 63 eggs in there this time and had 72 last time.. I could easily fit 150 without stacking.. LOL I think it's like coops... always have bigger than you ever think you'll need...

For our first hatch in our Brinsea Mini Advanced, I ordered 7 eggs, but the very nice lady who sold them to me added 3 extras!

We scrambled to build a homemade incubator which we very fortunately had most of the parts for. I just had to run down to Lowe's to buy a water heater thermostat and duct tape. My husband put it together in a few hours and would had a better hatch rate in the homemade. 2 out of 7 from the Brinsea hatched, and in our homemade, 3 out of 4 (we added some from from our own chickens, but only 1 was fertile) . I give all the credit to all the ideas we got from this website! People here are so innovative!
