Hi Everyone,
My old chicken tractor rotted, I was bringing it into the garage to use as a brood box for some new chicks we will be getting soon. We don't usually use the tractor except to keep newbies from the bigger gals or for quarantine, but we haven't need to use it in a few years.
It was an A frame style that was 8ft x 4ft with a 4ft x 4ft house attached. I was able to save most of the wire, but am wondering if there is a better design or quicker design. My hubby built it years ago, but is way to busy working right now to do it so I will be doing it myself. I do want it to have a house for them to sleep in too while introducing them.
Any suggestions would be great for this newbie builder, thanks!!

the easiest and fastest tractor... is one built out of stuff that you already have.

A junk pile, old dog house, old dresser. ....

do you have any scrap wood?
I have a dog cage (small) that can be used for brooding, but not as a tractor it is small. I do have scrap wood and can get as many pallets as I want.

you can make the tractor in 2 parts..

the dog house plus a wire run part.

Or just make a box out of the scrap wood with wire for 2 sides... tada... tractor.

I was on a thread the other day that was about hoop houses made from cattle panels. It looked so simple. I'm sorry i don't remember the name of the thread but if you search forums for cattle panels, it was only a few days ago.
