Apparently my D'uccles eggs are not good enough according to the chickens for me to save and eat later. Therefore, they must eat it up real quick hardly leaving any evidence and looking innocent when I come to grab the freshly laid egg.
Maybe they think Muffins egg's are too small and not nest worthy? Luckily I was there two days ago when the first egg was laid. My D'Uccle makes a huge racket right before she lays. She goes into a huge panic.
I hope and pray this doesn't become a habit or happen again. I love my fresh eggs and I work hard raising my chickens. I can't keep fake eggs in there, I will have a broody EE if that happens.
