Oh no! :(

My little cochin hen that is sitting on call and mandy eggs was scuffling with a bigger hen over the nest she has been setting. Luckily I was there and picked the bigger hen off of the nest. But when I did, an egg fell out of the nest and onto the floor and broke. It had a little baby in it. They are only at 2 weeks. I lost one.....at least I know they were developing.....

NOOO!! At least it was only one. I actually found it ( rather gruesome but ) interesting once when I set eggs in the incubator the same day a duck started sitting. She broke an egg at about day ten- And and I found it informative to see the embryo to be able to compare it to what I saw when candling eggs in the incubator..

Hope those girls are sorted now and you dont loose any other eggs.
