I concur with the group, although my experience is much more limited.

We just had a rooster occurrence ourselves, luckily after explaining it to the kiddo he felt better about it than us parents. Feed stores will usually take a rooster back, and you can always try craigslist or the swap forum here. Many people in more rural areas enjoy the roosters and will take one for their flock. My theory is to raise that rooster darn healthy, friendly, and good looking so that someone would be happy to have that roo.
