I have two EE's that are now 30 weeks old and not a single egg between them. They have just been beaten by a silkie that is a week younger. We are not in an area that is too cold, they have supplemental lighting, the two BR's that are the same age now along with one of the silkies are laying an egg every day. Ho Humm. Anyone else have EE'ers that have taken a long time to lay that first egg???

yes, mine took 34 weeks. I also have purebred Ameraucanas, one of which took 47 weeks to lay. But her first eggs were not small so maybe its good she matured slowly. Good luck!

Are these your only chickens? If not they may be laying brown eggs like the others & you just don't know who is laying. Just a thought.
No. We have 4 others, but the two BR's have been laying our brown eggs and we have come to recognize their eggs by color and shape. And the one laying silkie lays a much smaller cream colored egg. That's all we have so far. Still waiting for the other silkie and the 2 EE's.
