Today I got my first egg from my Easter Egger Hen (Eve)!!! It is awsome, a pale light blue, so pretty. I have never had them before and now I want alot more. Actually there were two eggs in the nest, one she must have laid yesterday as it was small and then another that was a good size. When I added it to the carton with the others I fell in love so now I need more EE's.

How old is your EE?
Mine are 18 weeks and I'm noticing that all of their faces are turing a very red color...before they were pale pink. Their combs are still small. Keeping them in the coop/run now till 3pm everyday and then I let them out for ranging till they come back in for lockdown at 8pm.

I am not really sure how old she is exactly. I got her about a month ago and the woman told me she was 4 months old so yours should be laying very soon. She is very pretty too and soon I will learn how to do the picture thing on the computer I swear!!!
The egg is such a pretty color I am amazed. I know they can throw a brown egg and sometimes the pinkish brown like Heidi's so I was estatic to say the least when I looked in that nest. Such a pleasant surprise!
Yours will be coming anyday now!

I'm fearing they will start hiding the eggs so I'm leaving them in the coop till 4pm everyday. Boy...they LOVE me when I let them out! So they are getting to range from 4pm till around 8pm. They are eating more feed I've noticed! I've been picking all the clover in my yard by the handfulls and putting them in the run...yesterday I think I cleared about a quarter of the clover in my backyard and they gobbled it all up!
COME on eggs!!

Congrats on the egg! I had a wheaten colored hen years ago and she laid the prettiest aqua colored eggs. What a joy and a shock to see that first one!I figure my new ees will probably end up laying the olive green and/or pinkish eggs. I'm not crazy about their feather coloring for the most part. I do have one that has coloring similar to a wheaten OEG. She's a pretty thing. Her breast is a nice soft rosy color and her neck feathers are a pretty reddish gold. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for another aqua egg but I might have to find another wheaten ee. I've heard they usually lay those pretty blue green eggs. My girls were 16 weeks yesterday. I haven't gotten any Easter eggs yet but should in the next month or so.
