Really? What were you selling? Gah, I wish I could've stayed and talked with some BYCers.

And thanks! I felt a little bad though because I didn't recognize them at first, then I got home and realized that they're both great breeders and thate Mr. Krahe was a District Director of the Sebright Club of America. It was like meeting a stranger then finally realizing that they were a celebrity

Sold Bantam Wyandottes, Silkies & Call ducks on the other side from Mr Krahe on the bottom row.

Told Mr Krahe this morning that he was getting some homage on here, and he was delighted to hear that he was being mentioned. He really is such a true gentleman! They don't make them like him anymore. We got some calls from him a few years back, and have bred some nice winners out of them! We had a nice talk about his breeding of the Black Call variety he is working with. They should be stunning when he gets them to his ideal!

Don Krahe is not a celebrity. He is a living legend.
Except for two years when he was overseas in the military (that dosen't count) Don Krahe has attended every OHIO NATIONAL Poultry show. And those two years Don's father brought his birds and exhibitied them for him.

Don, in part, attributes his life long exhibition poultry hobby to his long life. Just this weekend he told me that getting up every morning and looking forward to working with his birds keeps him active enough to stem off the effects of his advancing age.

We are always enthused when we see so many young exhibitors at the shows. Since I am now closer to the end of life than the beginning I am also especially happy that there are so many people of advanced years still active in, and because of, the hobby.

I feel even worse for not recognizing him now. But at the same time, I am honored
