Ohio National...

i went for 1st time to the show and pick up a pair of wheatens for betterhalf we had fun and will come back next year but i had to go by the dog show next door they had there fast before she wanted to take a dog home to .alot of birds

Anyone else surprised that Turkey won the show? I was over hearing someone say that bird was missing a row of feathers. Curious if anyone else noticed or heard something like that?

I wish there was more room for the "activity" parts of the show. The show aisles were roomy enough, and stacking pens was a great idea to create this space. Traders row, on the other hand, was a bit crowded. It would be nice if every cage had the breed, price, and seller's contact information. Youth showmanship had it really rough. They had to show in the hallway, right across from the giant Serama raffle table and table- top judging. I'm sure some of the youths were terrified that everyone was watching them, while others were miffed that there were so many people around, ignoring them! Lots of us forgot what was going on in there and cut them off, crowded them, and even started petting their birds! I think they all deserved an award just for putting up with us. Congratulations, youth showmanship exhibitors!

I really wanted to go to the show, but it was about 4 hours from me and I didn't want to go by myself.

I would like to go next year for sure! Maybe I could carpool with someone or a group? I'm right on I-80 about 1.5 hrs from the OH border. Anyone come through this way?

We elected to double deck the bantams to get the show all into the space we have. Seemed to work out okay since the aisles were wide. We had far more large fowl and big waterfowl this year than in the past and those larger cages eat up room in a hurry. Good problem I guess. It is nice to see that the big birds are at least holding thier own after years and years of decline on the show circuit.

Trader's Row - I think you could make the aisles 20' wide and when an interesting offering is on display the aisles wouldn't be wide enough. Part of the thrill of the hunt I suppose. I for one do not understand why the seller's don't make it easier for the buyers. We can, perhaps, do a little advice sheet on how butyers and sellers can make contact better.

Showmanship - I know. I was the judge during the most senior class while the Serama raffle was going on. Didn't see that one coming. We will work on eliminating that confusion another year.

We collect all these comments from attendees and take them into consideration before every next show.

It has not been said yet but finally-

We would like to very much thank all the exhibitors and visitors to The 2009 OHIO NATIONAL Poultry Show for their vital participation in America's Largest Annual Poultry Show.
Without you, people we consider to be our friends, the show would not be possible or for that matter very gratifying to us.

On behalf of The Ohio Poultry Breeders Association-

THANK YOU

Thank you Neil, for all the help you've been on this thread! It was a wonderful show, and I am really excited to be an exibitor next year!
