We have two chocolate runners. Our female has eggs in her nest, and we are going to let her hatch them. She does good hatching her eggs according to her last owner. So our question, what about daddy? Do we need to remove him once the babies hatch?

Thanks!

Some drakes are nasty towards ducklings, but you wont know until they hatch. Did the last owner remove the drake?? All you can do is wait and see what happens..He might be a good daddy... Hope he is for you, but it might be an idea to have something prepared in case you do need to remove him.

Well I'm going to say she left him in with her, because she only had the one pen, and they were both in there with 4 full grown hens. She said they hatched out babies, but her cat killed them. Well we have a brooder where we currently have baby chicks, and more ducks. So if need be we got em covered there.

Thanks ppl!
