Ok e1 poop help

I have 8 girls and in front of the coop door i clean out from seem to build up poop i rake it up but with all the rain latly its been wet and smells nasty can i use like a clay kitty litter or what? The inside is nice and clean and no smell its just outside the main door they use.thanks for info in advance.

I use hay. Dries out quickly and burns off in a burn can when I'm finished with it. The hens love it.
