Ok for ducks to eat rose petals?

My daughter threw some into their pool thinking "it looked pretty, and they liked it". They are starting to eat them, should I scoop them all out, or let them go to town??

That is fine as long as you don't use any bug poison on your rose bushes.

Rose petals are even ok for humans to eat. They have some sweetness to them and ducks like that. Ducks are quite smart, the figure really quick what tastes ok and what is not good. They will try everything, but give up after a bite or two when it does not fit their sense of taste. Never heard of a duck getting poisoned by eating plant material.
