I have it figured out finally. And it only took a year
I have a few hens. I had the nest boxes about 4 feet off the ground with a very angled roof. Th girls would still roosted on it. Sometimes you would here this noise and it was one of them sliding off. The few eggs I found were always on the ground so I took the nesting boxes off the stand. Then I got a piece of wavy green plastic and screwed it to the stand below the side supports. Then I put the boxes under that on the ground. And guess what I got 2 eggs in two different boxes today. The wavy stuff works great I just sweep it off into a bucket each day and the coop is good to go. Now I just need to paint it

i did have to move the nest buckets Some of the girls thought it was cute to sit backwards so their poop went on the ground in front of the buckets Those silly girls just moved thebuckets over to the end of the roost
