My 2 young hens that arn't quiet old enough to lay are sitting on the eggs I had put out there for my silkie and my silkie is not. They are showing GREAT signs of being a good momma, but it just confuses me. June Bug our delaware was pecking the tar out of me for checking on the eggs (I removed 2 bad eggs) and removed some of my skin from my finger. She was sitting under my Dominique girl cricket. Cricket was standing up over the eggs and June bug layed on them. They are ALL hens.. This behavior confuses me. Anyone have an explenation for why this is happening? I know my silkie didn't lay on them because she was being beat up by my other girls so was removed to her own area. However doesn't explain my other girls. I believe they are 5-6 months old and the silkie is an adult.
