Awesome!! If he's zipping, and already partway around, then odds are he's going to pop out of there on his own. The zipping is one of the danger points--if the humidity gets too low, the membrane can dry out and the chick can't turn in circles to zip. But if he's zipping, then that's not a problem. One more hurdle he's crossed!!
Apparently, this little guy is just marching to the beat of his own (much slower) drummer. I can relate. I also have a child who is that way. Everything with my Eli takes five times longer than it would with any other similarly aged child in the world, but he does get there. Just at his own pace. Ain't nothin' wrong with that.
Good for you for waiting. Can't wait to hear "he popped!!"
Honestly.. I've already gotten so emotionally attached.. I'm really prayin' !! There's been a few negative responses here that I just really hope this one makes it .. just to defy the odds.. and to put the positive on the forefront!....
The little sweetie hatched out at about one in the morning!!! I'd love to post pics.. but don't know how!
He's all alone , so my daughter put in a little mini stuffed unicorn he or she is cuddling up to right now!!!
Ahhhhh... what a sweet reward! I wish I could show you all just how special this little chick is.. just because of the homemade incubator he was forced to work with!.. LIterally, a kids shoebox, wet washcloth and heatlamp.. and a thermometer stuck in there!! Simple but obviously sweet enough for this little chick!!!!
AND... you guys have been the sweetest
... the advice and support kept me from biting ALL of my nails off!!!..
