OK...Just what is it??? and what color is this???

My daughter (with her good camera) helped me take pics of my chicks yesterday that I wanted to get confirmation for on gender. As I was cropping and looking at them I noticed that the comb on this "silkie"? didn't look like any of the others. Is it a Silkie? Any ideas on sex yet? Maybe 4 wks??








Also...this bantam Cochin...what color is that?? Not sure of age but I would say maybe 4 months.

Looks to be silkie. Sometimes those single combs do come up on silkies. It could be a cross however, you won't really know that though until it starts to feather out.
The 4 month bantam? Where is it?

the silkie is a silkie it just has the wrong comb as for the cochin it looks to be around 2 months instead of 4 and is a cockerel.

What color is it?? Is it mottled?
I have never had bantams before this past spring and this is the 1st bantam Cochin. I didn't know how old it was when I bought it, I just knew it was pretty young and I was pretty positive is was a rooster. Ok, so TY for the age correction. I was just making a guess.

I am almost positive the guy doesn't work on color projects. He has some birds in cages that he breeds to make sure they are pure and I know I saw a bantam roo in one that was the parent of the Cochin above. It was a beautiful bird but I don't remember it being laced. So probably just a very poor color. Ireally should not have bought him as I don't have anyone to go with him. Maybe when I get my LF chickens straightened out into freezer bait or keep, I will make a decision aboout him. I still have some small LF Cochins that I need to make sure of the genders. We took pictures of them, too and I will start another thread with them later. My children and grandchildren have now all returned to their respective homes after a week long reunion, and after 12 people in the house I have some "straightening" I need to do.
Since the Silkie above has the single comb, will it be easier to sex??

For a while I thought I had two female silkies. They both look and act like little girls, then about 4 months She became a Boy! so it was hard for me to know the sex, until its alittle older..
