Ok - my coop is 90% done so I thought I'd share some pictures.

CoGirl - Those are Australorps. We have four hens and one Roo Australorp.

Wow, very nice coop. Having just finished (90%) mine in the last few days, I can really appreciate what you have done. It's really nice.

No - it wasn't cheap! I'm figuring around $600-$700. That is mostly because we didn't know we were going to be building a coop or I would have been scrounging for months to find the material. It all happened so unexpectedly that we had no choice but to get it done to get the 12 week old chicks out of the box in the house.

Ctlisenced Arborist: You have good eyes! The two larger 4x4s are for an overhanging roof that will extend from the hen house to them. That will give the chickens an 8x8 covered area over their pophole. We will be netting in the rest of it and are starting that this week.

Nice,i fugured that.Member those pesky coons can climb, rip threw that flock netting faster than u can say UNCLE!Dont cheap out now,go for the metal welded wire, whats acouple more bucks to make sure your babys are safe.Plus, youve got kids just take it out of there allownce....lol,good luck
