Looks like a boy. If it does turn out to be a girl, they usually start to lay at 5-6 months. Depends on breed, as some mature sooner than others.

Do you have a side shot of your duck? And then I have seen a lot of swedish crosses that have the brown feathered bodies and the green masks and white bibbs.

brown--hmmm I guess the photo does look like he is brown huh? in person he is jet black lots of green and blue/purple in the feathers...love him
