OK so now he's just taunting me...

This darned hawk...the one that came and sat ON one of my covered chicken pens last week, is taunting me and my chickens making low passes through the yard - and my pens are pretty close to the house so this guy is flying right through my yard - reminding me that he is watching. I'm terrified to let my chickens out. I'd be devastated if he got one of them. They are in large pens so are not overly confined, but we all enjoy getting out in the fresh grass, at least while there still is some. Darned hawk!

Anybody have anything that works keeping them away?

I don't think you can do anything about keeping him away, but you could make your hens coops/where you are confining them more comfortable.
Give them plenty of greens, spinach is great. Also they can have some chicken scratch as a treat and a little boiled egg every second day.
Spoil them, they'll love you for it and keep them locked in until the hawk goes away, I lost one of my favorite hens from a hawk.
