This particular breed actually seems to be more fit with confinement as opposed to other bantams. A lot of breeders also only keep or or two hens with a male when it comes to seramas.Chickens naturally like to scratch and need access to a dustbath. You should put at least bedding in the bottom of the cages so they can do natural chicken behaviours and prevent boredom. Do you have one rooster with one female? That may cause issues as the hen may be overbred and get injured. They really need more space and more stimulation inside their cage if they do not have access to outdoors until spring.
