aveca! THANK YOU for that information! I have been looking forever for offical information like this for months now!!! Now I know that it REALY is easy to get eggs from Canada which is wonderful!!!!

There are a few diseases which can pass through the egg, such as MG & EDS-76, most don't.

yeah I meant domestic as in "within this country" domestic as opposed to foreign.
 
By the way I dont think they quarantine eggs.....look up the info again.

They quarantine imported birds. with eggs you get the importation permit and then the person in the exporting country has to get health certificates which cost approx $1000 US.

So egg importation is viable but expensive.
 
When I moved over to US a few years ago. In order to be issued with the necessary paperwork to export eggs from UK the ownder was to pay to have a ministry vet to come out to take blood tests from a certain percentage of ones birds, selected at random. This is to be done every fortnight for 6 months. If anything, I'd guess the conditions would be even stricter now.
