I brought her down from her nest in the rafters and tried introducing 3 chicks. She attacked one right away last night and the other I found wandering - it managed toget itself into a corner and huddled there. (The third I removed when she attacked the other last night). So I have 14 chicks 5 Leghorns, 5 reds (all pullets) and 4 mixed speckled sussex.

You cant by just one or two birds in NH so I got 12 (mim) and added two for casualities.... but I don't want to raise 14 chicks. I thought I could get my broody to do it and I would keep only a couple of pullets around as my current age into hens.

Blueberry has completly guven up the idea of nesting and caring for her nest/eggs (I removed those only one was fertile and had died some time ago).

Ideas? Ok dont really need ideas just need someone to take the chicks.

Call your local feed store maybe they can hook you up with someone. I would take them but I'm in FL.

Good luck.

Well if you don't want to raise them, your only oppion is to get them new homes. It's not that difficult to raise chicks...I'm a little confused, why get them in the first place? So plan A was to have a broody and then what was plan B, discard them?

edited to add....I'm sorry if I seem a little harsh, just trying to understand why you would get them in the first place if you didn't want to raise them. You must have known rejection could have been a possibility! Good luck to you, and I hope you find those chicks good homes.
